I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the mummies in Guanajuato, and I actually followed the rules while I was in the museum. However, I have decided to post some pictures of the mummies on here so you could see what I got to see. Note that all the arms of the mummies are either crossed or placed to the side. However, there is one mummy that appears to be biting her arm, which in fact she was. She was buried alive. They were pretty freaky.
So one Sunday evening we were talking about books and Caroline was talking about a book that she liked and was explaining what it was about. She was talking about Irish and 2 different parents. Then Ryan said that "oh that's everyone from Irish." Now we can all tease him about what he said.. HAHAHAHAH
Guanajuato, Mexico is full of Mexican history and culture. There you can find the Mummies of Guanajuato and some of the oldest churches in Mexico and the New World. Much of the cities road system is in underground tunnels made of brick and stone. Every year at the beginning of October they hold the Cervantino Festival. People from all over the world come to eat and look at local and foreign art. UNESCO has declared the city a world cite and local city code is very strict in trying to uphold and preserve the Spanish Colonial city. It was so much fun and there was so much to see and do.
I went to the Wedding of Brisa and Omar (Brisa is a friend from ASU). She got married in San Miguel de Allende, which is every bit as beautiful as Guanajuato. In fact there is more local art and many more gardens there. Both cities were colonial Spanish cities and revolved around mining. In fact the state of Guanajuato is one of the richest mining areas of the entire world.
Shortly after I got back from my mission all of the sons living at home with Mom and Dad, (which was everybody but Mark) had to decide which rooms to sleep in. Corey and Scott both wanted the larger of the two rooms (which is now the Sun and Star Room). Since neither would secede the room they both decided to sleep in the water bed in the room. That lasted until the day, 6 months later, when Corey moved out of the house. Those six months were full of accusations of Scott rolling over on Corey and Corey punching Scott in the middle of the night. Those mornings after were some of the funniest mornings of my life. Ha ha ha.
