Last week I was shopping in Costco and they already had Christmas stuff out. Then on one of the local radio stations they were playing a Christmas song in preparation of the upcoming season (it was 99.9). Remember back in the day when Christmas didn't come out in the stores until around Halloween? Well I started to see it at the end of August this year.
Why is it, that Christmas is starting so early? Well I think that stores are really nervous that they aren't going to get as many sales this year because of the economic turndown. In response they are going to push Christmas as much as they can! That is my theory, what is yours?

Ryan, early preparation is just part of growing up! I've already made some decorations and bought some gifts! Well, maybe it's more a mother thing... One year I'd shopped the sales and bought all the toys for the kids gifts by September. But Dad still wanted to go shopping in December because it put him in the Christmas spirit! So much for planning ahead and saving money!
Wow I'm impressed that Shelly has started already!! I think Ryan's theory isn't far fetched though.
Well, I don't think that there is anything wrong with being prepared. I too have pretty much finished my shopping. I was referring to the commercialization of Christmas. Why are the radios already gearing up at the beginning of September, and stores are already bringing out the decorations. It is just crazy! It feels overwhelming already!
